If you use the barcode scan feature during onboarding, Aluvi requests access to your device camera to scan product barcodes. We do not capture, store, or transmit any photos or images. Camera access is used only to read the barcode value in real time.
When you scan a product barcode, Aluvi retrieves publicly available product data (name, brand, ingredients) from Open Beauty Facts, an open-source database licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL). We do not share any personal information with Open Beauty Facts as part of this lookup.

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
Your quiz answers (skin type, concerns, budget, products owned, and goals) are sent to our backend server, which forwards them to Anthropic's API to generate your routine. This data is transmitted securely and is not stored by Anthropic for training purposes beyond their standard API data handling practices. Your API interaction is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy.
If you tap a product recommendation, you will be taken to the Sephora or Amazon website via an affiliate link. We receive a commission if you make a purchase. We do not share any personal data with Sephora or Amazon as part of this click — standard browser data (such as IP address and referral URL) may be collected by those platforms under their own privacy policies.
We use a third-party analytics service to understand how users engage with the app. This data is aggregated and anonymized. We do not share personally identifiable information with our analytics provider.
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or in response to a valid legal request (such as a court order or subpoena), or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Aluvi, our users, or the public.
If Aluvi is acquired, merged, or its assets are transferred, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via the app or email before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Your routine, quiz answers, and progress data are stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure authentication tokens stored in your device's iOS Keychain, and access controls that limit who within our team can access user data.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you have reason to believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at ardho@aluviapp.com.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active, or as long as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
Anonymized, aggregated analytics data (which cannot identify you) may be retained for longer periods for product improvement purposes.

You can cancel your Aluvi subscription at any time through your iPhone Settings under Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for unused portions of a subscription period.
You can rebuild your routine at any time from the Profile tab. When you retake the quiz, your previous quiz answers are replaced with your new answers. Your progress history (streaks, completion data) is preserved separately and is not affected.
Aluvi is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete that information promptly.
The Aluvi website at aluviapp.com uses cookies and tracking technologies, including the Meta Pixel, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. This allows us to track events such as page visits and form submissions to understand how users discover Aluvi.
You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings or by using available opt-out tools provided by advertising platforms. Note that opting out of tracking does not affect your ability to use the website or the app.
Aluvi uses ingredient data from Open Beauty Facts, an open-source product database. Open Beauty Facts data is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL). This attribution is required by the license and is also presented within the app under Profile > Data Sources.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Aluvi after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
